Tiffani Collins is an experienced trial attorney specializing in civil litigation, criminal defense, and a wide variety of business matters, including formation and governance and contract disputes. Over the last decade, she has built a reputation as a formidable advocate, zealously fighting for the rights of her clients. Ms. Collins started her career in private practice at some of Maryland’s most notable firms, before venturing out on her own. In 2017, she joined forces with fellow trial attorney Jason Downs to form Baltimore based law firm, Downs Collins, P.A.
In her role as Managing Partner, Ms. Collins oversees the firm’s day to day operations and strategic growth. In addition to these responsibilities, Ms. Collins serves as lead counsel on a number of civil and criminal matters in state and federal courts and routinely as well as provides external general counsel services to small and mid-sized businesses and non-profits throughout the state of Maryland.
Ms. Collins’ passion for the legal profession has led to her relentless commitment to ensure its diversity and inclusivity. Ms. Collins currently serves as the Co-chair of the Judicial Appointments Committee and a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association
In addition to her passion for the legal profession, Ms. Collins is a staunch advocate of community service. She currently serves as Vice President of the board for the Baltimore Education Scholarship Trust and dedicates a significant portion of her time to mentoring and speaking to women and young adults about education and opportunity.
Ms. Collins received her BA from the University of Maryland in 2005 and her JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2008. After law school, she had the honor of serving as law clerk to the Honorable David W. Young, Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland.
Ms. Collins has been recognized by the Maryland Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Leading Women in 2016, and by the National Black Trial Lawyers’ Association as a Top 40 Under 40 in 2017.
